XAudia is a small workshop in Britain who rebuilt vintage ribbon mics for use in modern studios. Judging by this one, their work is fantastic - at prices that often are better than you'd see for beat up pieces on Reverb.
This one is a Reslo which looks very Cavern Club. Sound-wise it sits somewhere between the utalitarian Beyer M260 and the strong character of a Coles. It works great on guitar amps and acoustic guitars, but a particular favorite is to put it off the side of the snare as a mono drum mic. This usually gives a really complete drum sound which makes you consider leaving the spot mics off. And as with many ribbon mics, it can be EQd heavily to sit well in a mix without sounding too wonky.
